Description
An anti-syphon valve is a type of check valve, or backflow preventer. These valves can be installed with water hoses, allowing water to flow forwards while preventing water in the hose from syphoning, or flowing, back into the water source, which can cause contamination. Using an anti-syphon valve reduces environmental risk and will make your operation more EFP compliant.
How to install
Step One – remove hose from hydrant
Step Two – screw valve onto hydrant
Step Three – reattach ‘female’ end of hose onto the valve
It is relatively simple and inexpensive to install an anti-syphon valve. Prevention is always the least expensive option. Water contamination will impact both your operation and the environment.
